It was my dream to go on a riding holiday, this week has outshone my wildest dreams with my trusty mount Smartie...who I kissed often!  our lovely hosts and the menagerie of all creatures great and small.  The food was not up to much....only joking Steve!  It's your fault I've not lost any weight despite the hours of riding! This has been the perfect holiday for us. Glorious weather, stunning scenery, cosy and comfortable accommodation, heavenly food, wonderful animals, beautiful horses (big hugs to noble Guv and swift Smarite) swimming in the river, gorgeous rides and above all hosts to die for.  Warm, generous, with a great sense of humour and big hearts!  Thanks so much Steve and Sandra for all you have done and for being who you are.  We WILL be back.

We love this area of Portugal, in particular your valley is quite paradisiacal.  Lovely calm forward going horses, the company and humour, not to mention the food and swimming in the river ....very heaven...

The human company was excellent, hosts and fellow guests alike. Many stories shared, good food music and the wine flowed.  Add the stars of the show, your wonderful horses, Smartie, the little sports car, and prancing pony Apollo who danced all week.  All the ingredients for a special week that will be long remembered.

From the moment the first trot turned into a flat out gallop, the grin has never left my face.  The countryside is gorgeous and every woodland trail had its own unique atmosphere, the wildlife, especially the black squirrels was a real bonus. Then to come home to Steves cooking..Magic! Altogether, a holiday that could not be bettered.

The country is beautiful, the hosts are fantastic and the horses wonderful.  Steve's cooking is way too good to have for more than a week! Sandra is so friendly and knowledgeable about horses and willing to impart her knowledge.  The gallops through the woods were thrilling.  I will remember everyone two and four legs!  for a long time....until I come back

This was a fairytale week for me, Guv transformed me from a nervous return-rider into a more natural rider, albeit with a dodgy knee! You both made me feel really welcome and I completely de-stressed during the week.  Gois Valley is beautiful and the veggie food was marvellous--WRITE THE RECIPE BOOK!  Thanks for a lovely holiday I really hope to return.

Thank you so much for a wonderful week in paradise! All aspects of the holiday were fantastic - Smartie was a brilliant and honest horse to get to know, with a lovely collected canter ( and a fast gallop!), and Guv was a great teacher for Paul. He'll never let me forget that he beat me! The food was delicious, and olives on tap was heaven. The whole week was so relaxing and healing for the spirit, I was very sad to leave.Hope you are all well, say a special hello to Smartie, Give Moppy and Bica a big hug for me!  Hope to see you again next year!

We had a wonderful week with you. Thank you again. The scenery on the rides was stunning and it seemed as though we had stepped back in time as we rode through the ancient willages, rarely encountering a car or a lorry.The pace was perfectly tailored to our ability and our riding confidence has increased after being on, and with your magnificent horses. The picnic rides were delightful.This area of Portugal is beautiful, and we thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet offered by your special spot. The meals that we shared on the verandah were memorable, thanks to good conversation and, of course, Steve's delicious dishes. (Yes we both put on some weight) We miss Moppy...Bica...Misty...and Black cat and seeing the ducks and chickens around.
We hope that we will return soon.
